{"id":419,"date":"2013-02-10T14:15:32","date_gmt":"2013-02-10T14:15:32","guid":{"rendered":"http:\/\/www.psychotherapie-begic.nl\/?page_id=419"},"modified":"2016-07-13T19:26:13","modified_gmt":"2016-07-13T19:26:13","slug":"treatment","status":"publish","type":"page","link":"https:\/\/www.psychotherapie-begic.nl\/?page_id=419","title":{"rendered":"TREATMENT"},"content":{"rendered":"<p style=\"text-align: justify;\">Treatments will always search for a balance between what ought to be less or diminishing (problem, symptom or, inadaptive\u00a0behavioral\u00a0pattern) and what needs to become more or, grow (capacity, ability, adaptive thoughts, positive feelings, communicative skills, etc.). The duration of the treatment will be dependent on the nature of the problem.<\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: justify;\"><span style=\"color: #044f07;\"><strong>Psychotherapy<\/strong><\/span>\u00a0aims to increase the individual&#8217;s sense of his\/her own\u00a0well-being. Psychotherapists employ a range of techniques based on experiential relationship building,\u00a0dialogue,\u00a0communication\u00a0and\u00a0behavior\u00a0change that are designed to improve the\u00a0mental health\u00a0of a client, or to improve relationships (such as in a\u00a0family). In my work I use cognitive\u00a0behavioral\u00a0therapy, Schema Therapy, EMDR and Systems Therapy.<strong>\u00a0<\/strong><\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: justify;\"><span style=\"color: #044f07;\"><strong><span style=\"color: #044f07;\">Cognitive\u00a0behavioral\u00a0therapy<\/span><\/strong><span style=\"color: #044f07;\">\u00a0(<\/span><strong style=\"color: #044f07;\">CBT<\/strong><span style=\"color: #044f07;\">)<\/span><\/span> is a\u00a0psychotherapeutic\u00a0approach that addresses dysfunctional emotions, maladaptive\u00a0behaviors\u00a0and cognitive processes through a number of goal-oriented, explicit systematic procedures.<strong>\u00a0<\/strong><\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: justify;\"><span style=\"color: #044f07;\"><strong>Schema Therapy<\/strong><\/span>\u00a0is used in the treatment of personality disorders and chronic Axis I disorders, such as patients who fail to respond or relapse after having been through other therapies (for example, traditional CBT). Schema Therapy is a modern integrative, psychotherapy which\u00a0synergistically and systematically combines theory and techniques rooted in past therapies including; Cognitive\u00a0Behavioral\u00a0Therapy, psychoanalytic object relations, Attachment Theory and, Gestalt therapy. The goal of Schema Therapy is to help patients meet their core emotional needs.<strong>\u00a0<\/strong><\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: justify;\"><span style=\"color: #044f07;\"><strong>EMDR<\/strong><\/span> is the form of psychotherapy in which the patient recalls a traumatic event while simultaneously undergoing bilateral stimulation that can consist of moving the eyes from side to side, vibrations or tapping movements on different sides of the body, or tones delivered through one ear, then the other, via headphones. The goal of EMDR therapy is to process distressing (traumatic) memories, reducing their lingering influence and allowing clients to develop more adaptive coping mechanisms. Lately, there is also growing evidence for the efficacy of EMDR in treating some phobias, anxiety disorders and, self-esteem problems. EMDR is most often used in combination with other psychotherapy treatments.<\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: justify;\"><span style=\"color: #044f07;\"><strong>Mindfulness<\/strong><\/span> practice is being employed in psychology to alleviate a variety of mental and physical conditions, such as bringing about reductions in depression symptoms,\u00a0reducing stress an anxiety. As such mindfulness meditation and minfulness based cognitieve therapie is often a part of individual psychotherapy.<\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: justify;\"><span style=\"color: #044f07;\"><strong>Systems therapy\u00a0<\/strong><\/span>is a form of\u00a0psychotherapy which seeks to address people not on individual level (as was the focus in earlier forms of therapy), but rather to address people in relation to others. The\u00a0practice\u00a0of systemic therapy is to approach problems practically rather than\u00a0analytically and to identify stagnant patterns of\u00a0behavior\u00a0in groups of people such as a family, and then to address those patterns directly, irrespective of cause.<strong>\u00a0<\/strong><\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: justify;\"><span style=\"color: #044f07;\"><strong>Coaching<\/strong><\/span> is a practice that helps people identify and achieve personal goals. Life coaches assist clients by using a variety of tools and techniques. Coaching as used in my practice is based on\u00a0behavioral\u00a0 directive and solution\u00a0focused\u00a0psychotherapy in combination with the emerging field of Positive Psychology.<\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: justify;\"><span style=\"color: #044f07;\"><strong>Expat coaching\u00a0<\/strong><\/span>deals specifically with the unique set of challenges emerging from the cultural dislocation and relocation following an international or domestic move. This niche of coaching tends to\u00a0center\u00a0around adapting to a new culture, identifying issues created within relocating families, difficulties attaining professional goals amidst a changing political and social structure as well as social and personal hurdles unique each individual.<\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"<p>Treatments will always search for a balance between what ought to be less or diminishing (problem, symptom or, inadaptive\u00a0behavioral\u00a0pattern) and what needs to become more or, grow (capacity, ability, adaptive thoughts, positive feelings, communicative skills, etc.).
